WHO Launches New COVID-19 Campaign for Kids

The office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Eastern Mediterranean Region has launched a new campaign targeting kids in MENA.

Through four animated short films, the campaign aims to communicate the best practices of preventing the spread of COVID-19 in schools. The films feature Zein and Zeina, characters originally produced by Spacetoon, with the storylines built on scientific guidelines validated by WHO.

Each of the four films revolves around a different topic to provide kids with health tips in a creative way. The first film is about the challenge of finding a new way to safely greet others in schools. It has already premiered on WHO’s regional social media pages and was also broadcasted on the Spacetoon TV channel. The short is now available online on WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region’s official YouTube channel.

The second film focuses on respiratory and hand hygiene, while the third and fourth films will cover physical distancing and stigma, respectively.
