VP of Children’s Entertainment in Place at Jim Henson

HOLLYWOOD: The Jim Henson Company has appointed Sarah Maizes to the newly created position of VP of children’s entertainment.

In her new role, Maizes will focus on the production of all preschool and children’s programming for TV, home entertainment and digital media in animated and live-action formats. Maizes most recently served as a production executive on the company’s new series for preschoolers, Dot., which is currently airing on Sprout. She will report to Halle Stanford, the company’s executive VP of children’s entertainment.

Maizes is a seasoned entertainment development executive who has also written several award-winning books for both children and parents, including On My Way to the Bath and On My Way to Bed. Maizes is a regular parenting and lifestyle contributor to Today.com and has also written several non-fiction humor books. She began her career at William Morris and has also worked at Nelvana, KingWorld Animation and Mattel Entertainment.

“Sarah brings her rich entertainment experience and deep understanding of kids and parents to her new role at Henson,” said Stanford. “She has a truly authentic point of view as both a parent and a grown-up kid that will give a hilarious, honest touch to her work here.”
