Televisa Picks Up Mattel Creations’ WellieWishers

NEW YORK: Mattel Creations has secured the first Latin American distribution deal for WellieWishers from American Girl, with the all-new animated series being picked up by Mexico’s Televisa.

WellieWishers has been dubbed into Latin Spanish and will launch on Televisa in mid-December. WellieWishers joins Barbie, Monster HighMax Steel, Thomas & Friends and others as the latest of Mattel’s properties to appear on Televisa. The series premiered earlier this year on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S.

Each 11-minute episode of the 2D animated show for girls aged 5 to 7 follows the adventures of Jillian, Kendall, Ashlyn, Emerson and Camille. When the WellieWishers step into their colorful rain boots, they are ready for anything they encounter in their aunt’s whimsical backyard garden.

Justin Richardson, the VP of global content distribution and strategy at Mattel Creations, said, “We are pleased to be launching WellieWishers with our esteemed partners, Televisa in Mexico. The broadcaster has exactly the right platform and audience for this compelling new series and with its timeless, illustration-inspired design and contemporary storytelling, we believe the show will resonate with young girls in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.”

Maca Rotter, the managing director for Televisa Consumer Products, commented, “We are delighted to be expanding the relationship we have with Mattel Creations, and we are sure this content will be amazing for everyone who loves the American Girl brand.”

The WellieWishers product line is available at specific retailers across Mexico.
