Teletubbies Renewed for Season Two

HALIFAX: DHX Media and CBeebies are planning a second season of the new Teletubbies iteration, produced by Darrall Macqueen.

With the new order, 60 more episodes will be produced for DHX and CBeebies. Teletubbies first premiered in March 1997, and was recently relaunched by DHX Media and Darrall Macqueen after having been visually enhanced with CGI.

Steven DeNure, the president and COO of DHX Media, said: “The new Teletubbies has clearly struck a chord with U.K. audiences, and we look forward to sharing more wonderful Tubbyland adventures with viewers tuning in on CBeebies. We expect this to be an exciting year for the Teletubbies as we continue to roll out this iconic brand worldwide.”

Kay Benbow, the controller of CBeebies, said: “Since it launched, the new series of Teletubbies has been a huge hit with our very youngest viewers. I am delighted to commission more episodes of this much loved show, so that the CBeebies audience can continue to enjoy and discover a world of fun in Tubbyland.”
