AMC Networks International–Central and Northern Europe (AMCNI–CNE) and Telekom Romania have renewed the carriage deal for the kids’ network Minimax.

Beginning June 1, Telekom Romania’s basic channel package will feature the children’s channel, making it available to nearly 85 percent of pay-TV subscribers in the country and further strengthening its presence in CEE. The network, which expanded its airtime to a 24-hour service last year, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and is available in five languages in 11 countries across Europe.

Telekom Romania’s subscribers will have access to exclusive new episodes of the series Spirit: Riding Free from DreamWorks Animation, alongside summer weekend marathons of Masha and the Bear. In July, Minimax will debut the new season of Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own. In August, the channel will air family-friendly movies from its newly enriched film library, alongside other new programming.

Balázs Hajós, VP of affiliate sales at AMCNI–CNE, commented: “This agreement builds on our long-term partnership with Telekom Romania by making our popular kids’ network Minimax available widely throughout the region. As AMCNI continues to expand our portfolio of diverse channels, we’re committed to offering premium content to attract and entertain audiences of all ages around the world.”

Andreas Elsner, chief commercial officer of the residential segment at Telekom Romania, said: “We are happy to announce that Minimax channel is now part of our TV grid, thus delivering on our promise to provide quality TV content and meet the consumers’ different needs and preferences. This gives us the opportunity, on Children’s Day, to offer children the Minimax experience, by exploring new worlds together with their favorite characters.”
