The live-action series Boxwars from the Australian studio BES Animation has won MIPJunior’s International Pitch.

The “make-and-do” format involves teams of skilled artists, engineers and designers working with the general public to create objects out of cardboard that are then used to compete in a mock battle. Boxwars turns recycling into entertainment, aimed at kids ages 6 to 10.

Competing against four other projects, Boxwars was named the winner of the live pitch from a panel of industry experts from the BBC, RAI Ragazzi, SUPER RTL, France Télévisions and Nickelodeon.
