Superights has sold Zibilla, an antibullying special, into Italy, where it will premiere on Rai Yoyo and RaiPlay on February 7, the Italian national day against bullying.

Produced by Nadasdy Film, Zibilla sees the titular adopted zebra left out at school because of her differences. An exciting adventure with a wild lion helps her gain self-confidence to roar back at the others.

The special has already been sold around the globe to KiKA (Germany), YLE (Finland), Enfan TV (Japan), RTP (Portugal), Česká televize (the Czech Republic), RTV (Slovakia), RTVS (Slovenia), Modiband (Spain), Oznoz (U.S.) and HITN (U.S. Hispanic and Latin America).

“Being and/or feeling ‘different’—this can be the turning point in our life, as a kid as well as a grown-up,” said Annalisa Liberi, head of kids’ acquisitions at Rai Ragazzi. “We are happy to let kids and parents follow the immersive adventure of Zibilla, celebrating inclusivity, from happiness through sadness and fear, to a new lightness among friends and peers.”

Pedro Citaristi, VP of Southern Europe operations at Superights, said, “We are extremely happy that Zibilla, which was awarded at the Giffoni Film Festival, found its natural home at Rai. I’m sure Italian kids will fall in love with this little zebra as much as kids from the other countries where the special has been broadcasted already did.”
