Superights has picked up the global distribution rights to the preschool series Momolu and Friends from Finnish animation and licensing studio Ferly.

The co-production between Ferly, Canada’s Yellow Animation and Belgium’s Digital Graphics follows a gentle, unassuming panda who frequently stumbles into situations requiring his help. Superights will distribute the series internationally, excluding German-speaking territories, Finland, Norway, Benelux and Canada.

Each episode of Momolu and Friends teaches children how to problem-solve, manage challenges and work together to find solutions. The IP was originally created by design specialist and arts educator Leena Fredriksson.

“The Momolu brand is designed to help young children navigate a world that is becoming more complicated, but in a way that is fun, exciting, and allows their imaginations to take them to wonderful places,” said Laura Nevanlinna, CEO of Ferly. “We’re looking forward to bringing the universe of Momolu and all of its charming stories and characters to viewers around the world. This deal with Superights allows us to continue encouraging children and families to get creative and help raise well-rounded, happy people.”

Nathalie Pinguet, deputy general manager at Superights, added, “We are very proud to welcome Momolu and his friends to our catalog. We have been totally captivated by the subtle, unique mix between the artistic and edutainment aspect of the program, confirming its originality on the market. Momolu and Friends will complete our lineup, adding something fresh to our available content.”
