Spacetoon Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Spacetoon Group has marked four decades of bringing anime to audiences in the MENA region, celebrating with an event in Dubai.

Over 200 guests, including leaders from Japanese studios, along with regional media, entertainment and government entities, gathered in recognition of Spacetoon Group’s anime legacy and its plans for the future of the genre across the MENA region.

Jun Imanishi, consul general of Japan in Dubai, said, “It was truly an honor to be a part of this momentous occasion celebrating Spacetoon Group’s remarkable 40-year anime journey. Congratulations on this incredible milestone.

“It is heartening to see how Japanese animation transcends borders and facilitates the spread of familiarity and understanding of Japanese culture in the UAE, MENA and worldwide. Animation isn’t just about entertainment; it is a soft power that can influence values, lifestyles and inspire the minds of the youth.
