SABC in South Africa has picked up 16 titles from the Australian Children’s Television Foundation’s catalog (ACTF) through Urban Pictures.

Titles include the recent releases Hardball and Little Lunch, which will screen for the first time in the territory on free-to-air television. Further titles include Mortified, Genie from Down Under and Girl from Tomorrow.

Violet Sekhibidu, channel manager at SABC, said, “We are excited to bring over 100 hours of high quality and engaging ACTF content to South African television. With Australia’s dynamic landscapes, rich cultures and celebration of diversity showcased within these storylines, this is tv content sure to connect and inspire audiences of all ages. Watch it on SABC channels starting June 2020”.

Jenny Buckland, CEO at ACTF, said, “We’re excited that so many Australian children’s series are set to reach South African children—may the universal themes, quirky Australian humor and sun-drenched backdrops to our stories bring joy and connect the children of South Africa and Australia to each other.”
