Sinking Ship Entertainment’s hit series Dino Dana is headed to China, where Bomanbridge Media has licensed seasons one and two to Youku.

The series, following 10-year-old Dana as she learns more about dinosaurs via her Dino Field Guide, will debut on the Chinese streaming platform later this year.

Produced by Sinking Ship Entertainment in association with TVOkids and Prime Video, Dino Dana was developed as a follow-up to the Dino Dan series. It premiered in 2017 and was followed by the theatrical release of Dino Dana The Movie in 2020.

“We are thrilled that Youku is bringing Dino Dina to China to spread the joy of education and curiosity,” said Kate Sanagan, Sinking Ship’s head of sales and distribution. “Dino Dana’s expansion to so many distinct markets is a clear reflection of the show’s high quality and its genuine and universal love for learning.”

“Bomanbridge is thrilled to yet again break through viewing barriers by placing this series with trusted partners such as Youku,” said Sonia Fleck, CEO of Bomanbridge Media. “Live-action series can be a difficult genre to place in China, but with our careful approach on excellent dubbing standards and the series’ guarantee to offer a great script, character development and top-notch CGI, it was a clear choice in the streamer’s attempt to diversify the kids’ and family offering. We are happy to say that Dino Dana has proven to perform well all over Asia Pacific and is testimony to Sinking Ship’s excellent creative content.”

John Ferri, VP of programming and content at TVO, added, “This series has inspired countless children around the world to learn through discovery and play. Dino Dana strikes a perfect balance between entertaining kids and helping them build skills that prepare them for school and life.”
