Showlab Picks Up Two Tortuga Studios Titles

Tortuga Studios has inked a distribution deal for two of its animated series with Showlab, an Italy-based production and distribution group.

The deal includes 2D animated comedy children’s programs The Under Underground (52×13), which has aired on Nickelodeon in Latin America, and The Amazing Professor Ambrosius (80×6), which is broadcast on Disney in Brazil. Both series will be launched at MIPTV next month for all EMEA buyers.

Guido Berte, general manager of consumer products and kids content at Showlab, said: “I first saw the projects at Annecy 2018 and since then we have been talking to Tortuga Studios, and have MIPTV as our next event to bring the project to the EMEA market. The company is formed by a young and talented team, and we are happy collaborating with them on the projects’ distribution. Both shows are exquisite and so funny.”
