Sesame Street Mecha Builders Episode Debuts on YouTube

A special sneak-peek episode of Sesame Street Mecha Builders, Sesame Workshop’s new STEM-based Sesame Street spin-off, has bowed on YouTube in the U.S. ahead of the series’ May premiere on Cartoonito.

Sesame Street Mecha Builders reimagines Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby as robot heroes-in-training who use their STEM superpowers to solve problems. The series is slated to debut on Cartoonito on Cartoon Network on May 9 and on HBO Max on May 10.

The Sesame Street spin-off is part of Sesame Workshop’s ongoing content partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. The series, the first-ever 3D CGI spin-off for the beloved children’s show, is animated by Guru Studio.

Other upcoming Sesame Street projects include the preschool series Bea’s Block and a family holiday special based on The Nutcracker.

“Imagination is in Sesame Workshop’s DNA; with the flexibility and freedom animation offers, we have a blank canvas to tell even more incredible stories,” said Kay Wilson Stallings,  executive VP of creative and production at Sesame Workshop. “Taking a creative approach to STEM learning, Sesame Street Mecha Builders invites children to soar into the sky, shrink down or grow ‘Mecha Big!’ to see things from a new perspective and discover their growing world.”
