Sanrio to Launch New Lifestyle Apps

LOS ANGELES: Sanrio, the global brand best known for the Hello Kitty character, has partnered with video-game developer Hyper Hippo to roll out a suite of lifestyle apps.

Titled hello sanrio, the digital project will explore the world of Sanrio through Hello Kitty and multiple characters from the company’s design portfolio, including Keroppi, Chococat, Badtz-Maru, My Melody, Pompompurin, Gudetama and more. The apps are due out this summer.

“The hello sanrio app family will combine social communication and our legendary breadth of characters to offer fans a new touch point to experience the brand,” said Jill Koch, the senior VP of brand management and marketing at Sanrio. “This marks the first time Sanrio will launch a new brand with digital content and merge the worlds of our characters so they can interact with one another. Our goal is to provide a platform for fans to connect and engage with each other and Sanrio’s expansive family of characters.”
