Rainbow Readies Pinocchio and Friends

The new Rainbow Group original series Pinocchio and Friends is set to make its debut on TV by the end of 2021.

The CGI-animated show, inspired by Carlo Collodi’s original The Adventures of Pinocchio, reimagines the story as a contemporary, irreverent and charming children’s series. It is created entirely from the point of view of children, for children and focuses on the bridge target market. Rainbow is currently previewing the pilot.

This new take on Pinocchio features the fairytale atmosphere of the old stories and traditional Italian locales and a story of magic events that clash with modern life. It will follow Pinocchio, an enchanted puppet living in today’s world, growing up alongside Grandpa Geppetto, the pirate doll Freeda and the Talking Cricket as he dreams of one day becoming a real boy.
