Semillitas, SomosTV’s 24-hour Spanish-language animation channel for toddlers and preschoolers, is adding the Norwegian series Elias to its lineup.

The series is slated to debut on the network on August 1. Elias follows as the titular rescue boat and his squad of pals solve problems together, like saving a ship caught in a storm or repairing the damaged engine of one of their friends. The show aims to teach young viewers about teamwork, friendship and getting along with others.

The series, produced by Filmkameratene and directed by Espen Fyksen, has been taken to the big screen with two films and has won a Golden Screen prize in Norway. It has also been nominated for the International Emmy Awards. Given the popularity and positive messages of the series, the Norwegian Marine Rescue Society has adopted Elias as their mascot.

Luis Villanueva, president and CEO of SomosTV, said: “Adding Elias to our programming brings undeniable value to our channel and its mission to educate and favor positive values in future generations. We are very happy to be able to support parents in the most important missions: to give their children a healthy, safe and appropriate entertainment for their ages.”
