Nickelodeon Treasure Hunt Malta to Return in May

Nickelodeon Treasure Hunt Malta, which first took place in 2019, is set to return in Valletta on May 28 and 29.

During the free, outdoor weekend event, families will be challenged to find clues at hotspot locations around Valletta and take photos with Nickelodeon characters in augmented reality. They will also have the chance to get slimed, visit a life-sized Krusty Krab, attend live shows on the main stage and participate in exclusive meet-and-greets with well-known characters.

Characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, PAW Patrol and Shimmer and Shine, among others, will be present.

The event is organized by Velocity International, Paramount’s in-house commercial integrated marketing agency.

“The second edition of Nickelodeon Treasure Hunt is landing in Malta and promises a unique, fun-packed weekend,” said Lee Sears, executive VP and general manager of international digital and ad sales at Paramount. “This experience is an exciting way for kids and families to immerse themselves in the world of Nick by connecting with their favorite characters and making valuable memories whilst discovering how much Malta has to offer to families visiting the island.”

“In the Malta Tourism Strategy 2021-2030, we have listed family tourism as one of our priorities for the tourism sector, especially during this recovery period,” said Clayton Bartolo, Minister for Tourism for Malta. “Having the Nickelodeon Treasure Hunt back in Malta is intrinsically related to this priority, and I am sure that once again, Malta will be able to cement its position as a family-friendly destination, where families with children of all ages can enjoy a fun, safe and unforgettable vacation.”

Dr. Gavin Gulia, chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), added, “One of the niches which we, as an Authority, continuously focus on in the Maltese Tourism Industry is family tourism. I am pleased, on behalf of the MTA, to welcome back the Nickelodeon Treasure Hunt to the Maltese Islands, and in particular to our beautiful capital city, Valletta. I am sure that this event being held at the end of May will be an additional incentive for families from all over the world to choose Malta for a well-deserved break with their families. There is truly something for everyone in Malta and Gozo, and partnerships with international brands such as Nickelodeon are helping us to enhance our product by giving families memories to last a lifetime and an appetite to come back for more.”
