Nickelodeon Latin America has partnered with the global conservation organization The Nature Conservancy (TNC) for its new environmentally focused original digital format show, Planeta Bala.

Created and produced by ViacomCBS Digital Studios International (VDSI) Americas, Planeta Bala is hosted by singer/songwriter and digital media star Bala. It premiered on November 4 on TrendybyNick.com, IG TV and YouTube.

Per the partnership, Nickelodeon and VDSI Americas will work with TNC to develop Planeta Bala’s episode themes, providing research, educational resources and videos focusing on various environmental issues. The topics will include climate change, the protection of land and water, food and water sustainability and the building of healthy cities. Further, TNC will bring various young environmental “Agents of Change” to be featured on the show.

In each episode, Bala will highlight ways to protect the planet with actions that can be done at home and in one’s daily life, sharing ways to heal and reverse the damage that has been done.

Tatiana Rodriguez, senior VP and brand head of kids and families for Nickelodeon Latin America, said: “By way of this partnership with The Nature Conservancy for Planeta Bala, we aim to reach and empower kids about environmental issues and give them a better understanding of the importance of protecting our planet with relevant facts. Bala has been advocating for the environment for quite some time, so this show is the perfect platform for her to highlight easy daily activities that can make a difference in protecting our environment.”

Debora Hertfelder, marketing manager for TNC Latin America, said: “We recognize young people as vital ambassadors for the planet. Being able to bring our science to millions of kids throughout Latin America is very important for us. It is a privilege to work with Nickelodeon and Bala to inspire and engage the next generation with this initiative.”

Bala said: “It is our responsibility to take care of our planet. If we continue to be careless with its resources, we, and future generations, will suffer the consequences down the road. I’m honored to be part of this initiative with Nickelodeon and The Nature Conservancy to use my voice on Planeta Bala to show kids that even the smallest actions can make a difference.”
