New Line of Contra Collectibles Set for Launch

My Arcade and Konami Cross Media NY have partnered to create a new line of collectible players for Konami’s classic gaming title Contra.

The two new collectibles, the Contra Micro Player and Pocket Player, are slated to launch by the holiday season. Debuting in 1987, Contra became globally renowned for its fast-paced, side-scrolling action and co-op gameplay.

“Our new mission is to find unique and exciting ways to expand Konami’s iconic game franchises,” says Jennifer Coleman, VP of licensing and marketing at Konami Cross Media NY. “The expansion of the Contra game line into standalone, compact versions, thanks to our partners at My Arcade, provides a unique opportunity for millions of fans around the world to collect and play their favorite game. We are happy to develop this new line of products for this popular title.”
