LONDON: A new range of products are set to be released for FremantleMedia Kids & Family’s iconic brand Rainbow, which also has live events lined up for this Christmas.

First aired on ITV in 1972, Rainbow ran for 19 years. Now, the brand is being extended by Casa Chicos with a new babywear line, initially launching in Mothercare in spring/summer 2017. In addition, a recent deal with Blues will see the apparel licensee produce a line of Rainbow-themed clothing across baby, kids and adult ranges.

Additionally, two live shows featuring the Rainbow characters are set for this Christmas. Fresh off the back of their appearance at Bunn Leisure holiday parks this summer, the characters George and Zippy will now be topping the bill in two festive pantomimes this holiday season in Yorkshire.

Tracy Griffiths, the VP of licensing and consumer products for EMEA and Australia FremantleMedia Kids & Family, said: “Rainbow is one of the most iconic kids’ brands around and these exciting deals prove appetite is still strong even as we approach the show’s 45-year anniversary since its first airing.”
