New episodes of Turtlebox Productions’ preschool series Mini Explorers! have premiered on the Shaftesbury Kids YouTube channel and will air on the U.S.-based streaming service Yippee TV on May 9.

The series combines live-action and animation to create a scripted walkthrough of a fictional first-person adventure game in which miniature kid avatars run and leap through real-world settings like tidal pools, forest streams and barnyard chicken coops.

The first season of Mini Explorers! previously aired on Peacock Jr.in the U.S. In addition to being available now on the Shaftesbury Kids YouTube channel, new episodes have been picked up by Yippee TV to air beginning May 9. Shaftesbury acted as the original commissioner for the new episodes.

Mini Explorers! is made with the financial participation of the Shaw Rocket Fund. It was created by Kat and Cam Hayduk, co-founders of Turtlebox.

“Kids really responded to the video game-inspired format of Mini Explorers!, so when we had the opportunity to produce more episodes with financial support from the Shaw Rocket Fund, we seized the opportunity,” said Kat Kelly Hayduk, co-partner and executive producer at Turtlebox Productions. “We’re thrilled that, in addition to Shaftesbury Kids’ YouTube channel, it’s also found a home at Yippee, opening the door to an even bigger audience.”
