A brand-new animated series, The Butterfly Fairy Friends, is in the works from the founders of Studio 100, Hans Bourlon and Gert Verhulst.

The 52×11-minute series is aimed at girls ages 4 to 7 and features an educational curriculum that promotes problem-solving and collaborative skills. It follows best friends Daisy, Rose and Iris, who gain magical powers from three butterflies that land on their backs, becoming fairy wings. The girls use their new-found magical abilities, combined with girl power, to overcome various problems they encounter.

The Butterfly Fairy Friends is the first project that Studio 100 and its founders have developed with Little Airplane Productions (Wonder Pets!, 3rd & Bird, P. King Duckling) since purchasing the company in December 2017. The show will be presented at Mifa in June.

Sharon Gomes, COO of Little Airplane, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Hans, Gert and the team at Studio 100 on this delightful new animation. Its three best friends are great role models for young girls, demonstrating the value of friendship and how combining everyone’s unique personalities and individual talents can help to overcome any challenge. Its global message and gorgeous visuals are sure to enchant children worldwide.”
