Moonbug Entertainment has appointed WarnerMedia alum Yasmin Zahid as its new head of distribution and brand partnerships for AsiaPac, taking over for Kelly Cooke.

Zahid will be responsible for strategizing Moonbug’s long-term growth in the region and extending its footprint in channel and content syndication by forging new partnerships and growing existing ones. She will take up the new role on July 17.

Previously, Zahid served as executive VP and head of affiliate and B2B distribution at WarnerMedia. She oversaw the launch of HBO GO in markets across Asia in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. She has over 30 years of experience in affiliate marketing, business development and GMT distribution for pay-TV markets across Asia.

“Moonbug Entertainment has some of the world’s most well-known brands and content that kids and parents love such as CoComelon, Blippi and Oddbods just to name a few,” Zahid said. “I am excited to be part of the Moonbug family to expand its footprint in AsiaPac, and I can’t wait to get started.”

“We are very excited to welcome Yasmin to the Moonbug family,” said Nicolas Eglau, managing director of EMEA and AsiaPac. “With her impressive track record and industry knowledge, I have no doubt she will be an invaluable addition to our company, leading Moonbug’s future growth and expansion in the AsiaPac region. Yasmin’s appointment is testament to our ambitious plans. Her vast experience and network will be key in continuing the wonderful work in bringing out popular shows to even wider audiences.”
