MoMedia & Studio 100 Sign Digital Deal

CANNES: MoMedia has entered into a digital distribution pact with Studio 100, which is home to such hit children’s properties as Maya the Bee, Heidi and Vic the Viking.

The deal brings the CGI animation series Heidi, Vic the Viking and Maya the Bee season one to iTunes in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Additionally, MoMedia will launch 16 apps for Studio 100’s animated children’s content under the deal. The apps will be available on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Chromecast, Netgem and Huawei, as well as via the Android and iOS app stores.

Lucas Bertrand, CEO of MoMedia, said: “Around 50% of consumers now prefer the convenience, reliability and—particularly in the kids’ space—safety of video-based apps. Naturally most TV and film distribution companies don’t focus on distributing apps so we decided to offer an easy way of assistance. This deal with Studio 100 is an example of how we can help both deliver to traditional ‘on demand’ digital platforms like iTunes and deliver more customized solutions. In today’s world of digital distribution, offering all things to all people is no longer a problem—it’s the solution.”

“The agreement with MoMedia, our exclusive aggregator for iTunes in the U.S., U.K. and Canada, gives our preschool series a broad digital reach in the English speaking territories ensuring the presence of our brands not only via EST but on additional different streaming platforms as well,” said Martin Krieger, the head of global distribution at Studio 100 Media. “Furthermore we appreciate MoMedia’s expertise and relations with various hardware companies that allow Heidi, Maya the Bee and Vic to reach their audience via their devices, too.”
