Meredith Roberts Fills New Animation Strategy Role at Disney

Meredith Roberts has been appointed to the newly created post of senior VP of animation strategy for Disney Channels.

In her new position, Roberts will be responsible for leading a unified vision for the animation content produced by Disney Television Animation and other studios for Disney Junior, Disney Channel, Disney XD and related platforms. From 2004 to 2007, she was the senior VP of creative affairs at Disney Television Animation, where she worked on Phineas and Ferb, Kim Possible and more.

For the last 11 years, Roberts was the general manager of DisneyToon Studios, which launched franchise films such as Cars World. Roberts will report to Nancy Kanter, the executive VP of content and creative strategy for Disney Channels Worldwide, and general manager of Disney Junior Worldwide.

Eric Coleman, the senior VP of original programming and general manager of Disney Television Animation, will continue to lead the day-to-day creative development and current at Disney TV Animation, reporting to Roberts. Lisa Salamone, the senior VP of production, will continue to be responsible for all production across animation for Disney Channels, with a dual report to Roberts and Susette Hsiung, the executive VP of network production management and operations for Disney Channels. Also reporting to Roberts will be Emily Hart, the VP of original programming for Disney Channels, and Alyssa Sapire, the VP of original programming for Disney Channels.
