Mattel has tapped Sai Koorapati as its new senior VP and chief technology officer.

Koorapati, who has over 25 years of technology leadership experience, will oversee all aspects of Mattel’s technology innovation and implementation, including shared platforms, software and hardware development, AI and connected product design and creation. He will also lead the company’s online security and privacy.

Koorapati joins from his most recent role as senior VP of global information technology at Topgolf Callaway Brands, where, for ten years, he led a company-wide digital transformation initiative that resulted in significant growth acceleration, profitability gains and enhanced risk management during a period of four major acquisitions.

Prior to that, Koorapati held leadership positions at TaylorMade Golf, Gathering Storm Group of Companies and other technology and manufacturing companies.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sai to our leadership team at Mattel,” said Anthony DiSilvestro, CFO of Mattel, to whom Koorapati will report. “He brings to our company a strong track record leading digital transformations and proven experience across enterprise applications, customer-facing systems and cybersecurity tools. We look forward to the benefit of Sai’s expertise navigating complex technological landscapes and empowering innovation at Mattel.”

“I am proud to join Mattel’s world-class management team, which highly values collaboration and is eager to innovate with technology,” Koorapati commented. “The company’s brands have long held a special place in my heart, and I look forward to leveraging technology to help advance Mattel’s strategy to grow its IP-driven toy business and expand its entertainment offering.”
