Master Moley, a brand-new animation featuring an all-star cast, is debuting at MIPJunior and MIPCOM as a 30-minute family special and TV series.

Master Moley is available in a finished half-hour family special. The family animation, targeted for ages 4 and upwards, features an award-winning cast that includes Warwick Davis (Harry Potter, Star Wars, Moominvalley), Julie Walters (Mamma Mia!Harry Potter, Billy Elliot), Gemma Arterton (Their Finest, Quantum of Solace), Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Horrid Henry: The Movie), Togo Igawa (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Thomas & Friends) and Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, The Imitation Game, Gosford Park).

Signature Entertainment is handling the special’s worldwide sales and U.K. distribution. In a worldwide distribution agreement, Jetpack Distribution has been appointed to sell the new TV series globally. The 52×11-minute series will continue the adventures of Master Moley, voiced by Davis, and friends.

Davis said: “I’ve loved being involved with Master Moley—I’ve had a fantastic time voicing this lovable and endearing character. And I’m delighted to be an executive producer on this project, which is a testament to how much I believe in this character and production, and also the future of Master Moley. It’s about establishing him as a character, as a family favorite and hopefully, audiences across the world will fall in love with him as much as I have.”

Signature Entertainment’s head of international distribution, Andrew Nerger, said: “We are delighted to be working in conjunction with Dominic and his team at Jetpack, to bring the adventures of Moley and friends to a global audience. Jetpack’s addition to the already very strong Moley team will no doubt ensure Master Moley has a very successful launch and eventual global roll-out.”

Jetpack Distribution’s CEO, Dominic Gardiner, said: “We are hugely excited to welcome Master Moley to the Jetpack fold. It’s an extremely high-quality production that’s both quintessentially British and universally appealing. The premise of moles living under Windsor Castle is magical and endearing, and the show has a warm family appeal. Adults will no doubt love it as much as their kids. The moles will be burrowing their way into Cannes!”

Master Moley creator James Reatchlous said: “I originally made up and told Master Moley stories to capture the imagination of my own children—never did I believe that years later we’d be bringing them to children across the world. I’m thrilled.”

Tony Nottage, Producer, added: “It has been a joy working with James Reatchlous the creator and Leon Joosen, the director, to bring Master Moley to life. The reaction the show has been getting has been fantastic, especially from kids, and we hope that this is just the start of a very long journey for Master Moley and all of his friends in MoleTown.”

Walters, who voices Mrs. Moley and The Queen in the special, said: “It’s going to be fantastic. People are going to love Master Moley and I have loved doing it.”
