HÖHENKIRCHEN/MUNICH: Mercis, the licensor and owner of the classic brand Miffy, has tapped m4e to represent all rights in German-speaking territories.

Under the agreement, m4e will help establish the Miffy brand in German-speaking markets. m4e and Mercis have a longstanding partnership for the sales of various Miffy TV series, and m4e’s Telescreen has produced Miffy the Movie and the classic TV series for Mercis.

Miffy is a little white rabbit created by Dutch author and illustrator Dick Bruna in 1955. More than 85 million books have been sold around the world in 50-plus languages. Several series and specials, as well as an animated feature film, have been produced and broadcast across the globe, including the latest series, Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small.

“We have made the strategic decision to position this classic brand in Germany into more of a lifestyle and infant/toddler brand,” said Jo Daris, the head of operations at m4e. Daris added that the brand can work for multiple age groups, ranging from infant to adult fashion.
