Following a deal with Vue Entertainment, a special compilation of episodes of Novel Entertainment’s animated series Horrid Henry is set to screen in cinemas across the U.K. and Ireland beginning on August 23.

Featuring well-known episodes and brand-new music videos, Horrid Henry on the Big Screen sees the titular character heading off on vacation, among other adventures. The special runs for just over an hour and features the new songs “My Song,” “Born To Be Rude,” “Wanna Be Me” and “Too Cool For School,” alongside the videos. It is directed by Hilary Audus and Dave Unwin and produced by Novel Entertainment’s Lucinda Whiteley and Mike Watts.

The big-screen special is the latest incarnation of the four-time BAFTA-nominated series. The fifth season is currently on air in the U.K. and the brand has expanded to include film, stage, radio and online extensions, as well as being at the heart of an extensive licensing and merchandising program.

A total of 250 episodes of the series are now available, with recent sales including MBC (Middle East), Alati International (Russia) and Atlantic Digital Networks (Canada). Renewals include Turner  (Asia), Mediacorp (Singapore), POP TV (Slovenia), E-Vision (Middle East), Asiana (Korea) and Netflix (France, U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand).

Other leading broadcasters on board include ABC in Australia, RTE in Ireland, Gulli in France, NRK in Norway, Hulu in the U.S., SVT in Sweden, YLE in Finland, RTP in Portugal, TVP1 in Poland and Al Jazeera in the Middle East.
