Hasbro and ABC Australia have signed a new broadcast deal to bring season one of Transformers: EarthSpark to certain ABC platforms.

Set on present-day Earth, the series follows two human kids as they forge a connection with Transformers robots and work alongside fan-favorite characters like Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

The first ten episodes of the season will premiere on the ABC ME channel, ABC ME app (FVOD) and ABC iview platform in December 2023. The remaining season one episodes will air on those same platforms in 2024.

Prior to this, Hasbro secured another major broadcast deal with BBC to air the Transformers: EarthSpark series to audiences in the U.K. Since launching on CBBC in July of this year, the show has been among the top ten most-watched shows on CBBC and BBC iPlayer.

Additionally, Hasbro’s Transformers: EarthSpark toy line is available in Australia now at most major retailers. Based off the series, the line brings the show’s key characters to life.

“We are thrilled to welcome ABC Australia as a major broadcast partner in expanding the global reach of the Transformers: EarthSpark series,” said Monica Candiani, executive VP of content sales for Hasbro Entertainment. “The network has proven to be an important partner for us. Our other kids’ properties Peppa Pig, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom and PJ Masks already air on ABC, and we are excited that Transformers: EarthSpark will also be part of its lineup of great shows. We look forward to the show’s launch in December—a perfect time for families to watch together as kids finish school and head into the holiday break period.

“Having the series air in Australia and the U.K. with some of the largest broadcasters in those regions is a big win for Hasbro and the Transformers brand. These deals speak to the quality of the series–its positive themes, characters, storylines and animation–and how it can resonate with families around the world. It’s exciting to see the show get the spotlight it deserves. I can confidently say that it is truly ‘more than meets the eye.'”
