The third annual Australian Children’s Content Summit is slated to return on August 25, with an expanded four-day run time through August 28.

Presented by SLR Productions with the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) returning as principal partner and Screen Australia and Screen NSW back as major government partners, the event will take place at Pacific Bay Resort in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, to provide a platform for networking, collaborating, sharing insights and building business relationships.

Over the past two years, the Australian Children’s Content Summit has attracted 260 delegates from 12 countries, including a lineup from ABC, NITV, BBC, BBC Studios, CBC, PBS KIDS, Apple, Disney, Netflix, Sony, Paramount, Nine, Hello Sunshine and many more.

Emma Watkins, known for her ARIA Award-winning musical children’s show Emma Memma, will again host this year’s summit. The event will also see the return of Flying Bark Productions as platinum partner and ABC, Simpsons and Screenwest as gold partners.

“The Australian Children’s Content Summit brings the industry together in a meaningful and collaborative way,” said Suzanne Ryan, CEO of SLR Productions and founder of the event. “It’s inspiring to see the event continue to grow, creating a space for our industry to connect, build lasting relationships and celebrate the outstanding content being made. This summit is about taking pride in what we create, contributing to a strong, sustainable future and driving the industry forward through a collective effort.”

Jenny Buckland, CEO of the ACTF, said, “The Australian Children’s Content Summit aligns with the Australian Children’s Television Foundation vision, which is quality Australian children’s screen content reaching and connecting with children on all the platforms they engage with, and it’s never been more important. The summit program is exploring everything from feature films to long-form drama and animation to games, YouTube and beyond. This is a week for anyone who shares our vision and wants to be part of making it happen.”

“Children’s content is at the heart of Australian storytelling, shaping how young audiences see themselves and their world,” commented Grainne Brunsdon, chief operating officer of Screen Australia. “The Australian Children’s Content Summit is a great space for the industry to come together, share insights and shape the future of children’s content in an evolving media landscape. Screen Australia is proud to support this important conversation and the creators bringing these stories to life.”

“Screen NSW is thrilled to be supporting the Australian Children’s Content Summit for another year as a major government partner,” added Kyas Hepworth, head of Screen NSW. “The summit is an excellent opportunity for our industry to recognise and celebrate the high calibre of content we create here. It’s also a chance to come together to connect on ways to support the sector so we continue to produce quality Australian children’s and family content.”

Jennifer Collins, director of content at ABC, said, “The ABC’s commitment to producing high-quality content for Australian children and their families has never been stronger. The Australian Children’s Content Summit provides an important opportunity for the ABC to join the independent production community and screen agency partners to connect, collaborate and develop a strong slate of creative ideas for Australian audiences.”
