In 2019, Emily Brundige (Pubertina, Hilda) released her original short film Goldie, centered on a giant girl with a big heart. The five-minute short has now been adapted as a series for Apple TV+, expanding Goldie’s adventures and furthering the messages of celebrating our differences and making space for everyone.
The 13-episode series features a voice cast of Jessica McKenna (The Mighty Ones), Dee Bradley Baker (Phineas & Ferb) and Amari McCoy (Spidey and His Amazing Friends), as well as a star-studded guest cast, including Henry Winkler (Happy Days, Barry), “Weird Al” Yankovic, Nicole Byer (Girl Code, Nailed It!) and more.
Brundige tells TV Kids Weekly about how the idea for Goldie came about all those years ago, the process of adapting it as a series, the themes it explores and what the cast lends to the story.
