LONDON: FremantleMedia Kids & Family (FMK) is introducing at MIPJunior and MIPCOM the animated comedy series Tasty Tales of the Food Truckers, the first project to result from its co-production pact with Shellhut Entertainment.

Tasty Tales of the Food Truckers follows the culinary adventures of three food-enthusiast animal friends. A sun bear, a monkey and a red panda travel the world in Julia, their state-of-the-art food truck, seeking out exotic ingredients and new food concepts. The friends share their experiences via a video blog. The 52×11-minute series features themes such as eating, travel, creativity, friendship, cooking and fun.

The show is intended for kids aged 6 to 9. It is being developed by showrunner Dan Clark (Team Smithereen, Brats of the Lost Nebula) with Bill Kopp (Eek the Cat!, Tom & Jerry: The Fast and the Furry) serving as director and FMK’s executive VP, Bob Higgins, executive producing. FMK holds distribution and licensing rights for the series in all territories, with the exception of Thailand.

Rick Glankler, the president and general manager of FremantleMedia Kids & Family, said, “We are delighted to announce this completely fresh property as the first project in our innovative co-development deal with Shellhut Entertainment. With our combined expertise and creativity, which spans continents, we are confident that we are cooking up a hilarious and irreverent show. Food Truckers taps into kids’ love of food, and the current zeitgeist around all things gastronomic—something we feel sure that broadcasters around the world will want to tuck into!”

Dr. Jwanwat (Tan) Ahriyavraromp, the CEO and founder of Shellhut Entertainment, commented, “Tasty Tales of the Food Truckers is an ambitious production. We believe it has the potential to reach an ever-expanding global audience. We are delighted to have FremantleMedia Kids & Family on board as this TV series’ key partner to help us achieve our goals.”
