eOne Inks Broadcast Deals for Cupcake & Dino

Entertainment One (eOne) has signed a number of broadcast agreements for the new animated comedy Cupcake & Dino: General Services, geared toward 6- to 11-year-old viewers.

Cupcake & Dino is about an unlikely duo doing small odd jobs in the competitive business of general services. The 52×11-minute series is produced by eOne and Birdo Studio in Brazil in association with Netflix, Teletoon and Disney. The show is due to debut in spring 2019 on Teletoon in Canada and Disney Channel Latin America. It will also premiere globally as a Netflix original.

Olivier Dumont, the managing director at eOne Family, commented: “We’re delighted to be bringing Cupcake & Dino to families around the world. Pedro Eboli’s show is full of heart and encapsulates the funny and original creator-driven content that we champion here at eOne, and will resonate strongly with a universal audience.”

eOne is presenting Cupcake & Dino to international buyers at MIPCOM. “Comedy is central to Cupcake & Dino, which we’re hoping to sell to international markets,” noted Monica Candiani, eOne Family’s head of international sales. “One thing that exports really well is comedy and that’s something you will find in many of eOne Family’s shows.”

Other highlights for the market include PJ Masks, about a trio of superheroes, and the global animated hit Peppa Pig, which is slated to premiere its new season in spring 2019 to coincide with the brand’s 15th-anniversary celebrations. “Peppa Pig airs in over 180 countries around the world and benefits from successful merchandise programs and live events, which encourage viewers to circle back to the TV show,” added Candiani.
