Mira, Royal Detective Set to Bow in U.S. & India

The animated series Mira, Royal Detective is slated to make its debut on Disney Channel and Disney Junior in the U.S. and Disney Channel India next month before rolling out internationally.

The series, set in the magical Indian-inspired land of Jalpur, centers on Mira, a brave and resourceful commoner who is appointed royal detective by the queen. It will premiere in the U.S. on March 20, and on Disney Channel India on March 22. Mira, Royal Detective will subsequently bow in an estimated 160 countries on Disney Channel and Disney Junior platforms globally.

Starring Freida Pinto, Kal Penn, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Hannah Simone, Jameela Jamil, Aparna Nancherla, Aasif Mandvi, Karan Soni, Maulik Pancholy, Sarayu Blue and Sarita Choudhury, Mira, Royal Detective features newcomer Leela Ladnier as Mira. The series, produced by Wild Canary in association with Disney Junior, with animation provided by Technicolor India, has received a season two order ahead of its premiere.

A music video featuring a mashup of the series’ main title song and Mira’s song, “We’re on the Case,” will debut on February 21, on DisneyMusicVevo and in the DisneyNOW app, with Walt Disney Records releasing a digital soundtrack with 20 songs from the series on March 20. Further, the DisneyNOW app will debut a hidden object game in which players are invited to help Mira solve mysteries by following a trail of clues in an immersive 3D environment.

Disney Parks, Experiences & Products will roll out a product line for Mira, Royal Detective by Just Play at the 2020 American International Toy Fair. The line, which will be available in the fall, features dolls, role-play products, figures, playset and more.
