Disney Channel has acquired the CBBC teen comedy-drama series Almost Never from Dynamic Television.

Almost Never, produced by Saltbeef TV, follows the ups and downs of The Wonderland, a boy band trying to juggle home life, school and relationships. It features covers of today’s most popular hits, along with original music from the bands in the show.

It is set to debut on Disney Channel on September 4, followed by five brand-new episodes. Beginning September 7, episodes will air Monday through Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Almost Never was created by Paul Rose and Jeremy Salsby, founder of Saltbeef TV. Salsby also serves as executive producer. The cast includes Emily Atack (The Inbetweeners), Colin Hoult (After Life) and Kimberly Wyatt (The Pussycat Dolls), with guest appearances by Tess Daly (host of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing) and Fleur East (The X Factor).

Almost Never is an enormous U.K. hit series, and Disney Channel is our dream U.S. partner,” said Daniel March, managing partner for Dynamic Television. “The cast are incredibly talented musicians who have generated millions of followers across social media. We can’t wait for this new U.K. band to invade the U.S.!”

Salsby added, “I’m thrilled to see Almost Never launching on Disney Channel and delighted the Disney audience will get a chance to enjoy the drama, laughs, music and mayhem of The Wonderland as they try to make it as a band.”
