Daily Madness and MIAM ! animation have partnered to co-produce the 2D animated comedy series Goat Girl, first introduced at Cartoon Forum 2020.

Commissioned by WarnerMedia EMEA with a prebuy from ABC Australia, Goat Girl follows 13-year-old Gigi, a girl raised by mountain goats, who must learn to spend time around actual people for the first time in her life. The 52×11-minute series is all about being comfortable in your own skin and embracing your quirks.

It is the first original series created by Shannon George and Kristina Yee, who take on the showrunner and head writer roles. Krystal Georgiou serves as series director, with Adam Kavanagh as art director. Lindsey Adams and Hanna Mouchez are producers. MIAM ! animation is the worldwide distributor.

Goat Girl will launch on Cartoon Network and HBO Max EMEA.

Lindsey Adams, founder of Daily Madness, said: “Gigi is the hero we all wished we could grow up with! A strong girl lead, who is not afraid to be exactly who she is. It has been a dream come true for us to ‘find our herd’ with our partners MIAM ! animation, WarnerMedia EMEA and ABC, and we cannot wait to bring this unique comedy series to life.”

Hanna Mouchez, founder of MIAM ! animation, commented: “How refreshing to meet Gigi and her goaty attitude; she’s everything we stand up for at MIAM !: an inspiring female character and a role model for kids that feel different and yet choose to embrace their quirks! We are very excited to be on board this project with Daily Madness and our commissioner WarnerMedia EMEA and acquisition partner ABC.”

Zia Bales, lead of acquisitions, partnerships and co-productions for Kids & Family at WarnerMedia EMEA, said: “Goat Girl’s quirky humor and strong and inspirational female lead make it a perfect fit for the WarnerMedia family. This is a show that celebrates uniqueness and encourages kids to accept others for who they are—it’s an important message and one that we always hope to convey to our young audience. We are proud to be on board as commissioners.”
