BBC Studios Launches Digital-First Yakka Dee! Spin-Off

BBC Studios has launched an interactive Yakka Dee! spin-off, Yakka Dee!, What Can You See?, on the series’ dedicated YouTube channel.

Yakka Dee! What Can You See? is an exciting evolution of the Yakka Dee! brand, designed to spark curiosity and deepen engagement in young learners,” said Cecilia Persson, managing director of BBC Studios Kids & Family. “This new interactive format brings language development to life through play, helping children build essential skills while having fun. We’re proud to continue innovating with King Banana TV to deliver content that supports early learning and reflects the joyful spirit of Yakka Dee!

The 15×3-minute digital-first series guides preschoolers through a spotting game. In each scene, there are three things for the young viewers to find.

Yakka Dee! airs on CBeebies and iPlayer and also encourages early language acquisition skills by teaching phonemes in a way that gives children building blocks for phonics, literacy and life-long learning.

Yakka Dee!, What Can You See? launched on YouTube’s Yakka Dee! Toddler Learning channel on October 25.

“We are delighted to build the Yakka Dee! brand and continue to provide content for kids that has enduring benefits,” commented Katie Simmons, creative director of King Banana. “This builds on King Banana’s portfolio of impactful shows that make a positive difference to children’s lives.”
