BBC Children’s and Education has ordered the new preschool series Playtime Towers, which is made by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions for CBeebies.

The series is billed as a celebration of imaginative play combined with educational content for 2- to 4-year-olds. The modern magazine show features larger-than-life characters, inspiring young children to fuel their own imaginative playtimes.

Set in a fantastical tower block called Playtime Towers, the show sees lively activities hidden on every floor, and the only way to uncover them is to ride the lift with Bella the Elevator Fun Maker. Alongside the characters from each floor real children feature prominently in the show.

Kate Morton, senior head of commissioning for CBeebies, said: “Little ones and their grown-ups will love this new take on the classic children’s TV format. The magazine show has been much-loved for generations since Playschool and family favorites like Show Me, Show Me and now Playtime Towers, with all the fun across each floor creating magical moments for today’s children.”
