Sky Kids has commissioned a new series based on Lucy Cousins’ best-selling Maisy books, My Friend Maisy, from BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions and Trustbridge Entertainment.

“Maisy is such a loved classic book character, and we’re so excited to be working with BBC Studios, Trustbridge Entertainment and Lucy Cousins to bring her to life in a contemporary way for Sky Kids families,” said Lucy Murphy, director of kids’ content at Sky. “With a real sense of joy in every episode, My Friend Maisy is the perfect blend of fun and adventure for young viewers.”

Matilda Tristram (Peppa Pig) is serving as head writer for the series, which will follow Maisy and her friends on imaginative adventures. The animation is being created by A Productions and Karrot.

The series is set to premiere on Sky Kids in 2026.

“This vibrant new series embraces the legacy of Lucy Cousins’ books with their bold illustrations, quirky humor and charm while pushing the boundaries of classic preschool storytelling, inviting children to enjoy Maisy like never before,” said Cecilia Persson, managing director of BBC Studios Kids & Family.
