MUNICH: Nelonen Media, part of Sanoma Media Finland, has acquired the CGI animated series Arthur and the Minimoys from Studio 100 Media.

The new series, based on Luc Besson’s book saga and movie trilogy, is currently in production. The first episodes of the 26×26-minute series are slated for delivery by December 2017. The agreement gives Nelonen Media exclusive TV rights for its free and pay channels.

Martin Krieger, the head of global distribution at Studio 100 Media, said, “We are delighted about this extended collaboration with Nelonen Media who is already on board with us for two of our latest productions, Nils Holgersson (52×13 minutes) and The Wild Adventures of Blinky Bill (52×12 minutes). We are confident that each of the three new CGI series will capture kids’ attention in Finland and further across international territories.”
