Animasia Studio has signed a $4 million co-production agreement with Zoland Animation for the new animated show Mighty Mechs.

Mighty Mechs follows a team of robots charged with such environmental missions as fixing a broken dam or finding a new home for endangered birds. The comedy series is meant for young viewers between the ages of 4 and 6. The 52×11-minute first installment is slated for completion in 2020.

Animasia’s Los Angeles team will oversee the preproduction process for Mighty Mechs, while Zoland is handing all of the 3D animation components.

Mighty Mechs has huge potential for success as it will be playing an important role in passing on important messages to the new generation of society, where the need for environment protection and conservation is a responsibility for everyone,” said Edmund Chan, the managing director of Animasia Studio.

In other news, Animasia announced a second season of Chuck Chicken, targeted for completion in 2020. Chan added: “We are delighted to announce the forward plans for Chuck Chicken as we saw great success for the series as it aired over many continents. Additionally, with our Los Angeles team of writers contributing creative ideas to further enhance season two, we are confident that fans of Chuck Chicken will be thrilled to watch the new episodes!”
