DreamWorks Animation is set to premiere the new Dragons: The Nine Realms series, inspired by the How to Train Your Dragon franchise, on December 23.

Dragons: The Nine Realms, set 1,300 years after the events of the film franchise, takes place in a world where dragons are just a legend. When a geological anomaly opens up a miles-deep fissure in the Earth’s surface, a group of misfit kids uncovers the truth about dragons and where they’ve been hiding. The series will debut on Hulu and Peacock.

Showrunner John Tellegen executive produces alongside Chuck Austen and Henry Gilroy. Beth Sleven is supervising producer.
