Angela Santomero Exits 9 Story Media Group

Angela C. Santomero is stepping down from her post as chief creative officer of 9 Story Media Group after five years with the company.

As the creator and executive producer of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Blue’s Clues & You!, Santomero will continue to work with 9 Story and its animation studio Brown Bag Films, retained in an ongoing consulting capacity.

Santomero joined 9 Story in 2018, following the company’s acquisition of Out of the Blue Enterprises, the children’s media company she co-founded in 2005. 

“I am grateful to 9 Story Media Group for acquiring Out of the Blue and for the opportunity to create and develop IP with kids at the center,” said Santomero. “I cannot wait for the newest series that I created to premiere next year!”

“Angela has gone back to her first love, which is creating shows for kids,” said Vince Commisso, president and CEO of 9 Story. “Along with her team, Angela has been instrumental in finding the voice for many of our properties, such as Rosie’s Rules, Karma’s World and Get Rolling with Otis, not to mention the wonderful shows she created. She’s been an invaluable leader, creator and contributor to 9 Story and her vision and passion have dramatically improved the creative quotient of the business.” 

Wendy Harris will lead the creative affairs group moving forward as senior VP/head of creative affairs, reporting to Commisso.

“Wendy has been a tremendous leader within our creative affairs team for the past five years, and we are excited for her to take on this expanded role,” said Commisso. “She is a highly accomplished producer and creative executive, and I am confident she will continue to strategically grow our IP with her signature style of collaboration, creativity and vision.”
