Alibaba & Disney to Bring DisneyLife OTT Service to China

SHANGHAI: Alibaba Group and The Walt Disney Company have entered into a multiyear agreement to launch the OTT service DisneyLife in China.

DisneyLife features a collection of Disney and Pixar movies, animated series, games, eBooks, songs, travel services and more. The device will be available for presale via Tmall.com starting today and will cost RMB799 ($125) inclusive of a one-year subscription of DisneyLife as part of a base package. DisneyLife will also allow for access to Alibaba products and services.

“As we deliver on our goal to meet the needs of a consumers’ daily life, DisneyLife, launched by Alibaba Digital Entertainment Business Unit together with Disney, will provide the only holistic and trusted family-friendly digital destination in China,” said Wei Ming, co-president of Youku Tudou Business Group and general manager of Alibaba Digital Entertainment Business Unit.
