ACTF Places Lockie Leonard in Germany

MELBOURNE: The Australian Children's Television Foundation (ACTF) has sold the first two seasons of the live-action dramedy Lockie Leonard to Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) and ARD for broadcast in Germany on KiKA and Das Erste, respectively.

Lockie Leonard follows the titular teenage character as he deals with young love and his caring but strange family. The 52×24-minute show, produced by Goalpost Pictures, is based on the popular books penned by Tim Winton. It is currently being dubbed into the German language in Berlin.

"We're thrilled that Lockie Leonard has found a home on KiKA and ARD and we can't wait to see how German audiences respond to this warm and funny show which brings real boys and all their lovable foibles to life," said Jenny Buckland, the CEO of ACTF.

Monika Gröller, commissioning editor at BR, added: "Lockie Leonard is a smart and entertaining series that gives insight into a teenage boys' thoughts and feelings. We believe that this rare perspective offers the young audience a chance to reflect on important social and emotional issues."
