Lockie Leonard to Make Spanish-Language Debut

VICTORIA, September 3: The
Australian Children’s Television Foundation has completed Spanish and Latin
American deals on the live-action children’s program Lockie Leonard.

The program will make its
Spanish-language debut on Cartoon Network Spain through Luk Internacional S.A.
and Cartoon Network Latin America. These latest deals follow the announcement
that a second season of the show, which will include 26 episodes, will go into
production early in 2009.

Produced by Goalpost
Pictures and distributed internationally by the Australian Children’s
Television Foundation, the series is based on the novels by Tim Winton. The
show follows Lockie Leonard, a surf rat whose family moves to a remote town.
With no friends, a new school and a house that is in danger of disappearing into
a swamp, Lockie is convinced that this is a total disaster until he finds out
the town has the best surf he has ever seen.
