Aardman has partnered with Netflix for multiple new projects, including a film sequel to Chicken Run, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.

The sequel film sees chickens Ginger and Rocky living on a peaceful island sanctuary far from the dangers of the human world with their daughter Molly. On the mainland, however, chicken-kind faces a terrible threat, and Ginger and her family must consider putting their freedom at risk to help.

Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget will feature the voices of Thandiwe Newton and Zachary Levi as Ginger and Rocky, respectively, with Bella Ramsey voicing Molly. Reprising their roles are Jane Horrocks, Imelda Staunton and Lynn Ferguson, along with new additions Josie Sedgwick-Davies, David Bradley, Romesh Ranganathan, Daniel Mays and Nick Mohammed. Sam Fell (Flushed Away, ParaNorman) will direct. The film is slated to debut in 2023, exclusively on Netflix.

A new Wallace & Gromit project is also in the works, with creator Nick Park directing. The untitled film follows as Wallace invents a “smart gnome,” which ends up developing a mind of its own. When events spiral out of control, Gromit must put aside his qualms and battle sinister forces, or Wallace may never be able to invent again.

The Wallace & Gromit film is slated for a 2024 release. It will debut exclusively on Netflix worldwide, excluding the U.K., where it will debut first on BBC.

These projects follow the first collaboration between Aardman and Netflix, Robin Robin. The musical made the Oscars shortlist and BAFTA longlist for animated short films.
