Zack Olin Joins Disney Television Animation

Nickelodeon and ABC alum Zack Olin (XO, Kitty; Monster High: The Movie) has joined Disney Television Animation as senior VP of development and current series.

Olin will oversee development and current series across Disney Television Animation’s slate, guiding creative strategy and series execution. He joins Disney after spending the past year independently developing and producing series and films. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Nickelodeon and Awesomeness.

Before Nickelodeon, Olin spent 13 years across ABC and ABC Studios, where he oversaw a slate that includes grown-ish, Speechless and Happy Endings. He began his career at FOX, working in development and current programming across animation, comedy and drama, as well as on films like TITAN A.E. and series such as The Simpsons and American Dad.

“Zack brings an exceptional creative sensibility and a deep understanding of how great stories are told and sustained over time,” said Meredith Roberts, executive VP of Disney Television Animation. “He has a strong track record of shaping bold storytelling, supporting creators and driving creative excellence, and he will be a key partner as we continue to deliver beloved animated series and movies for audiences around the world, now and for generations to come.”

“I’ve always been drawn to animation because of its scale, its heart, and the way it stays with audiences over time,” Olin said. “Getting to do that at Disney Television Animation and Disney Branded Television alongside Meredith, Ayo Davis and some of the most extraordinary creators and animators in the industry is the kind of opportunity you work toward over a career.”
