Billy the Cowboy Hamster Season Two Greenlit

France Télévisions has commissioned a second season of the preschool series Billy the Cowboy Hamster from Dandelooo.

Season two will consist of 48 11-minute episodes and two 22-minute TV specials. Cedric Guarneri is on board as director, and Bardaf! Productions and RTBF are co-producing.

The majority of the production will take place at Dandelooo’s in-house animation studio Ooolala in la Cartoucherie, Valence, France, with delivery slated for fall 2026.

In the new season, Billy and his companions Jean-Claude and Suzie will return for more adventures in the Wild West, which is changed with the arrival of the railroad, the camera and cinema.

Season one premiered on France 5 in 2023. It has also sold to Rai (Italy), Super RTL (Germany), TV5 Monde (France), SVT (Sweden), Pop UK (UK), NRK (Norway), Yle (Finland), RTS (Switzerland), ARTE Editions (France), Bentky (U.S.), VME (U.S.), BeIN (MENA), Ceska TV (Czech Republic), ERR (Estonia), LRT (Lithuania), HRT (Croatia), LTV (Latvia) MTVA (Hungary), STVR (Slovakia), TVP-ABC (Poland), DR (Denmark), RTVS (Slovenia) and Sýn (Iceland), among others.
